Dalziel's history
 
 

As per record, a certain Estate commonly called the Dalzell Estate situated at Simla Hills in the East Indies consisting of two houses known respectively as Dalzell House and Dalzell Cottage with the gardens and buildings and appurtenances thereto was on or about the twentieth of December One Thousand eight hundred and fifty purchased from Captain E, Sunderland by Elizabeth Ann Cooper of “The Lines” West End Lane, Kilburn, Middlesex in England. The Deed was registered in the Simla Registry Office on 21st December 1850. Therefore, Dalzell Estate dates back to prior this date of transfer and was constructed around 1844 or thereabouts.

History of Ownership

1. Captain E. Sunderland sold the property to Elizabeth Ann Cooper on 21st December, 1850
2. Elizabeth Ann Cooper sold the property to Alexander Chisholm on 31st December. 1887
3. Alexander Chisholm sold the property to Florenec Elizabeth Hotz on 3rd September, 1890
4. The property remained with the Hotz family till 1972 .
5. In 1972, Elizabeth Hotz Durrant who had transferred the property to Hotz Hotels sold it to the present owners Virendera Hotels & Allied Industries Pvt. Ltd.

 
ACCOMMODATION
 



The Hotel has 24 Double Rooms and 4 Family Rooms which can accommodate from 4 to 6 beds. All rooms are tastefully furnished with wall to wall carpets, sofas & curtains. All rooms have attached spotless bathrooms with geysers and modern sanitary fittings including showers. 24 hours cable TV service is available in the rooms. Deluxe & Semi-deluxe Rooms are located on Mall Road level in the main building. Family Suite/Room is located on ground floor in the main building. Economy Rooms are located in the annex Dalziel Cottage building, going down 30 stairs from Mall Road level.

Parking: As the Hotel is located in a sealed area on Mall Road, no cars or taxis are allowed to come to the hotel without a special permit. Kindly note that the Hotel does not offer any Parking. Guests must park their cars in the Railway Parking next to Victory Tunnel on the Cart Road below the hotel. For assistance, call 0177-6451306

  TERMS & CONDITIONS  
 
  • All rates are in Indian Rupees, on a nightly basis
  • All rates are inclusive of 10% Luxury tax & 5% service charge wherever applicable
  • Extra bed charges are Rs. 300/ per night. One extra bed is allowed in the Super deluxe and Deluxe double Rooms. Two extra beds each are allowed in Family Suites. No extra bed is allowed in either the Semi-deluxe, 3-bed Family room or the Economy Double Rooms.
  • Children from 5 to 8 years of age will be charged extra person charge of Rs. 80/ per day if accommodated without an extra bed. Children above 10 years will be treated as an extra adult.
 
  BOOKING & CANCELLATIONS  
 

BOOKING: We accept bookings by e-mail/ phone or fax. However, for bookings to be confirmed, we must receive an advance of at least 50% of the room charges for the duration of stay or full amount in case of MAP packages.

CANCELLATION: Rs. 350 administartion Charge if cancellation is made up to one week in advance.
